Unlocking the Power of Breastfeeding

Your Personal Lactation Consultant

My purpose is to empower mothers and their newborns on their breastfeeding journey, fostering a successful and fulfilling experience during those vital early months of life. I offer my services through both in-home and virtual consultations, catering to families in the greater Seattle area. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), I provide personalized, one-on-one guidance to mothers, meticulously assessing their breastfeeding needs and addressing any concerns or obstacles they may encounter.

With more than a decade of experience dedicated to working closely with mothers and their newborns, I bring a deep passion and a wealth of expertise to every consultation. My ultimate objective, whether we meet in person or virtually, is to support you wholeheartedly in your breastfeeding journey, right from the outset.

I understand that breastfeeding can pose challenges, but my approach is rooted in simplicity. I believe in building a strong foundation and nurturing the precious mother-baby relationship. Together, we can achieve success in your breastfeeding goals.

My approach starts with the simple truth that fed is best and the way you feed your baby may look different for everyone. I'm here to help in your journey whether you are exclusively breastfeeding or exclusively pumping, whether your baby's getting breast milk or formula or a combo of the two. I want to be a support person for you and help you keep your baby fed!

In-person Home Visits

By conducting thorough assessments of each mother-baby pair to understand their unique needs and challenges related to breastfeeding, I offer hands-on support for positioning and latching techniques, ensuring that both mother and baby are comfortable and achieve an effective latch.

I can help to identify and address common breastfeeding issues such as latch difficulties and nipple pain, low milk supply, or engorgement and provide solutions and strategies to overcome these challenges.

I will observe a feeding and will educate mothers on how to know if baby is having effective feedings. I will weigh the baby after the feed to know exact numbers, and will teach mothers about newborn feeding cues, diapering, and other aspects of infant care to promote a holistic approach to baby's well-being.

Detailed feeding plan provided.

Back to work? Pumping & Bottle Feeding Consultation

Transitioning from exclusive breastfeeding to introducing a bottle as you prepare to return to work or start your job can be a challenging and overwhelming experience for many families. It may sound unusual, but teaching your baby to effectively suck on a bottle is a necessary step because it's a different skill than nursing at the breast.

Moreover, there are other important considerations to ensure a smooth transition. One critical aspect is your milk supply. We'll assess whether you have an ample supply or if there's a need to work on increasing it. Additionally, the type of breast pump you have is crucial, and it's vital that it fits you properly to optimize pumping efficiency.

We'll address key questions such as when to start pumping, the ideal frequency and duration of pumping sessions, and much more. My goal is to provide expert guidance and support to make this transition as seamless as possible, empowering you to navigate this important phase with confidence.

Reviews:

I would highly recommend using Bree for any and all lactation services post partum. She is extremely knowledgeable and is clearly passionate about what she does. She was very empathetic, calm, and kind all of which were very comforting in the chaos of being newly postpartum. She took ample time to explain and educate both my husband and I about her findings and left us with a clear plan moving forward. Another great thing about Bree’s services is that she comes to your home. This eliminates the stress and anxiety of leaving the house with a newborn and trying to manage getting to an appointment on time. It also allows her to see you breastfeeding in your natural environment in your own home and offer tips/advice on how to adjust things for optimal breast feeding success and your own bodily comfort. I have recommended Bree to all of my friends who are new mommas and will use her for any future lactation needs that arise. 10/10 I would recommend Bree! - Brenna M.

Lactation Lady, Bree, is so amazing! Bree has helped me through breastfeeding challenges with both of my babies. I started using her in 2020 with my first baby. She is a wealth of knowledge, and is truly passionate about her work. Every time I have contacted her with a concern, she makes me feel so empowered, as well as provides me with solutions I feel good about. Bree is also so friendly and warm, you can talk to her about anything. If you need any support at all through your lactation journey, I cannot recommend Bree enough!! - Chelsey B.

My wife and I just had our first child, and Bree has been unbelievably helpful and has made our experience with breast feeding so much better than it could have been! In an environment where you get so many different opinions on breast feeding from medical professionals, it was so nice to have Bree as our main point of contact for lactation. Not only does she put so much thought and care into the continued health and wellness of our daughter, she also puts just as much thought into the emotional and mental well-being of my wife during the entire unique process of breast feeding for your baby. We couldn’t recommend Bree more for anyone looking for help in any way for lactation!  - Jerry C.

If you are looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, judgement free lactation consultant then Bree is your resource. We have been working with Bree with our first child. She taught me comfortable breastfeeding positions, proper latch, and listening for swallows. All of this saved me from the pain I was experiencing in the first days. Bree worked with us to provide unique recommendations based off me and my baby’s situation. I highly recommend working with Bree! - Jenna T
